Spring Pizza Recipes

Pear and Brie Pizza

It may be hard to believe, but it’s already spring time again! It's time for another round of tasty spring pizza ideas to test out in your home kitchen. Here at the Pizzacraft headquarters, we've been busy testing and tasting and we've got two new pizza recipes to prove it. We based these recipes around a few seasonal ingredients: pears, spinach, artichokes, and mushrooms. Grab your best dough recipe, your favorite sauce, a little bit of cheese and we’ll meet you in the kitchen!

The Perfect Pear

Inspired by an appetizer, this pizza is slightly sweet but also savory. Brie goes wonderfully with Asian pear and the two taste even better with just a pinch of thyme.

Ingredients

  • 1 dough ball (8-10 oz.)
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 3-4 oz. mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Asian pear, sliced
  • Small wedge triple cream brie cheese, cut into slices
  • 1 tsp. thyme, chopped

Method

  1. Allow dough to proof 2-3 hours at room temperature.
  2. Stretch dough to desired shape/size and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Add mozzarella cheese and bake pizza using desired method until half-cooked.
  4. Remove pizza from the oven, top with sliced pear and brie, and finish cooking until brie is just starting to melt.
  5. Finish pizza by garnishing with fresh thyme.

Spinach and Artichoke Pizza

More Veggies Please

This next pizza features three ingredients that go extremely well together: spinach, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts. These ingredients also work great on a whole wheat crust if you’re trying to eat a little healthier these days.

  • 1/2 C. ranch dressing
  • 4-6 oz. mozzarella cheese
  • 1 C. spinach, roughly chopped
  • 2/3 C. artichoke hearts
  • 1 C. oyster mushrooms, sliced

Instructions

  1. Allow dough to proof 2-3 hours at room temperature.
  2. Stretch dough to desired shape/size.
  3. Mix ranch with minced garlic and spread a thin layer across the dough.
  4. Place spinach on pizza (directly onto the sauce) then add the mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Add artichokes and mushrooms and proceed to bake the pizza using desired method.
  6. Remove pizza from the oven and enjoy!
