Dear Pizzafest Attendees,
First off, thank you for your love of pizza and for your intention to support our wonderful charity event, Pizzafest.
Unfortunately, we have had to make the incredibly tough decision to canceled Pizzafest 2017 due to air quality concerns stemming from the Northern California fires. We have been alerted of multiple warnings from health and news outlets about unsafe and unhealthy conditions for Saturday’s air quality, and we feel the cancellation is a necessary measure to keep you, your families and our employees safe. At this point, the event will not be rescheduled.
We will begin initiating ticket refunds through Brown Paper Tickets today (Friday October 13, 2017).
Pizzafest is (and has been for the last 3 years) run by The Companion Group as a charitable event for Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency (B.O.S.S.) an East Bay non-profit that helps low income and underserved people in the Bay Area. We are a huge supporter of B.O.S.S. and feel very passionately about what they do for our community.
From your admission price of just $20, we were well on our way to raising $10,000 and possibly much more from beer sales and additional donations! Although The Companion Group is continuing to work on ways to fundraise for B.O.S.S., we are incredibly disappointed that with the cancellation of Pizzafest we will not be able to donate the $10,000+ to them this weekend.
As you receive your refund from Brown Paper Tickets, please consider turning this refund back into a helpful donation for B.O.S.S. and for your community. Donations to B.O.S.S. can be made here.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we incredibly disappointed to not be seeing you all on Saturday. Please keep all the people affected by the devastating fires in Northern California in your thoughts.

Pizzafest is hosted by The Companion Group. As the manufacturer of Pizzacraft products, we were looking for ways to support the local community (and let's be real - excuses to eat more pizza), while giving local Pizzeria Pronto owners a way to show off their incredible recipes and skills. We're proud to say Pizzafest is on its fourth year, and our taste buds have never been more delighted.
